PROGRAMS FOR BUSINESS: DEMAND REPONSE

Get rewarded for reducing your energy demand

If you are a business with a large annual peak demand you can receive substantial payments for reducing your energy consumption during specified times of power system need.

DEMAND RESPONSE can be met by reducing your equipment electricity use, generating your own power or shifting production to an off-peak period. Businesses with an annual peak demand of 400 kW or more will benefit the most from this program.

You can participate in the DEMAND RESPONSE program in two different ways, depending on your facility's needs:

You can choose a voluntary program (DR1) in which you decide, on a monthly basis, whether or not to participate and how much Demand Response you can provide. You can also choose a contractual program (DR3) in which you make a firm commitment to reducing energy use during peak periods in return for higher incentives.

In either program, you will receive payments as compensation for shedding load by turning off lights or motors, shifting production to other periods, or drawing electricity supply from an onsite generator.

To get started on the DEMAND RESPONSE PROGRAM call Joseph Jedinak, 705-748-9301 ext. 1323
